The KPMG Darwin Team Away Day had a strategic focus. The brief was simple - help the team to further develop our corporate vision. The event planning and delivery was excellent, Alison created an inclusive program that allowed our large team (40+) to build, share and communicate a business vision. The program was very smart and people focused, and it made our staff think about how they fit into the business, what their responsibilities are and how they can help with the big picture plan. A major benefit of the day was that through a process of two way communication, team building and individual goal setting, the whole partnership is now held accountable for delivering on the agreed outcomes and action plans of the day. The feedback from the team was excellent, with the day mostly being described as FUN!
At the end of the day, our team walked away feeling like part of a bigger picture, part of a family, it was a real bonding experience that signalled a major shift in group dynamics and how we operate as a team. It is a day that we all have fond memories of and one that is going to take some beating. We are already starting to think about the next one...Thanks Avant!!

Having previously worked for Avant before, I had high expectations of the service they provide and second time around they have been just as helpful, professional and friendly. My registration process was completed on the spot and I had a job placement within an hour! Their service to me has been outstanding and since that first placement, they have continued to find me ongoing employment. I last worked for Avant about 4 years ago and really enjoyed working with the team they had then, becoming friends with some of the consultants. Obviously Ali is a great leader and team motivator as I have found working with the new team of Vanessa and Rebecca to be fantastic. They all seem to know what is going on and are doing a great job of keeping me employed. When I first met Vanessa, I felt like she had been my friend forever, she was very supportive of me and she and the other team members have done everything to help me. Going back to Avant was like going back to something that you know. Having to change jobs quite frequently because of Defence postings can be quite daunting and an emotional experience, so it was nice to go back to an environment that felt familiar. Although the consultants had changed, the level of service definitely had not. I felt comfortable knowing they would help me in every way to find employment – even when they knew it would only be for the short term. I recently had a placement (where I had worked previously) and was excited to meet up with some familiar faces upon returning there and really enjoyed my experience. My other placements have been appropriate to my skill level and I have learnt something new at every job.
Working as a temporary employee in many different establishments, I have been given the opportunity to learn new tasks and expand on the knowledge I already have, network with new businesses/people, make new friends and work a variety of jobs which is helping me make a decision on my career direction.
