From Chicago, Illinois to Douala, Republic of Cameroon, from Shandong Province, China to Darwin Australia. All over the world in nearly every industry we are experiencing a dramatic skills shortage as we progress to the technological age.
Ten years since the turn of the Century and the pace of technology has been incredible. We are still in the process of a) learning it, and b) using it to its full potential. In the meantime life goes on and in the business world this means that we (in particular generation x) are working longer and in the majority of cases harder as we try to come to terms with our own individual skills gaps in this accelerated age.
Skills shortage refers to management skills in particular technically proficient some managers are not adept at risk management or human resource management and other ‘soft skills’. Administration Managers not strong on project management can struggle with the implementation of new IT hardware systems if not trained.
Skills shortage – need people – no houses.
Skills shortage – use people in houses – skills gaps – no time to train + burn out.
