Avant has been supporting the Darwin Community since inception in 2003 and continues to provide financial and in kind assistance to a range of worthwhile local projects and community based organisatiosn across Darwin each year including:

Australian Institute of Office Professionals (AIOP)

Avant has long been an active supporter of AIOP, providing professional services and sponsorship of the Annual National Office Professionals Day Breakfast, held in May each year. In 2009, Avant is proud to have increased its support to become an NT Division Partner and looks forward to working with AIOP in maximising benefits to Territory members.

The Australian Institute of Office Professionals is the only national professional body for office professionals in Australia. The Institute was established in 1963 to "encourage the attainment of a professional qualification and promote and develop the private secretarial profession at all levels". The Institute is still primarily involved with improving the profile of Office Professionals in the business community and increasing their educational levels.

St John Ambulance Australia NT Inc

Avant strongly supports the vital work of St John Ambulance NT Volunteers and the vital services they provide to the Territory community.

St John Ambulance Volunteers donate approximately 23 hours of their own time each week of every year across the Territory, ensuring that First Aid services are available to members of the public attending major and community public events.

Avant has successfully raised approximately $20,000 for St John Ambulance Volunteers over recent years as a result of the ‘Avant Hit and Giggle’ Ladies Charity Golf Day.

Somerville Community Services

Avant have supported Somerville Community Services in providing financial and in kind support to the community welfare arm of Somerville. The role of the division is to assist people to participate in society at the greatest level to which they aspire and are capable of achieving. Family Services staff work with people of all ages - children, adolescents and adults, and can work with families, couples or individuals. They assist anyone who is experiencing a crisis or problem in their life.

The division also provides counselling and psychotherapy, practical, emotional and educative support, financial counselling and short to medium term supported accommodation. The division offers advocacy, liaison and referral to other agencies and professionals. While the services that are offered vary greatly, they each have a common theme - that is “To empower people to exert control over their own lives".

The Smith Family

Avant has supported the Smith Family as our Christmas contribution to the community on behalf of our many clients. Support has provided funds to purchase packages of books for NT Schools.

The Smith Family supports disadvantaged students in primary, middle and high schools in Darwin, Palmerston, Katherine and Ramingining. Their program encourages students to stay at school, get the most out of their education and go on to further study and employment. The Smith Family believes that a good education is the key to having a great life, and so do we at Avant.

Going Green at Avant

Avant is demonstrating its commitment to the environment by using 100% recycled paper and envelopes and cutting down on printing and paper waste.

Avant has also made the switch to environmentally friendly cleaning products which are readily biodegradable and non-alkaline to minimise our impact on the natural environment.
